What Makes You Get Older?

Death
Witnessing death
Over and over again
Watching a life slip away
Day by day
It's like taking a walk through life
Trying to find your own way

To your own happiness
And as you walk
You start to notice
Dead end signs
Just popping up
You were sure
Those weren't all there before.
There had been people walking
Down those roads before
But right now
I'm sure
Those are dead end signs
The more you walk the more you see
You couldn't image
There would be so much
The more you walk
The more you see.
And when you look around
In any direction
Forwards
Backwards
Side to side too
There's more dead end signs
More and more dead end signs
In every shade In every hue.
So all these roads
Have dead end signs?
If that's true
Every road ends too.
